Muhammad Bin Younas is a Research Assistant/PhD student at the University of Strathclyde's Applied Superconductivity Lab. I graduated with a master's degree from the Center for Advanced Studies in Energy (CAS-E) at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Pakistan and worked as a research exchange scholar at Inonu University in Turkey through the Mevlana Exchange Program. During my master's degree, I worked on the design optimization and fault analysis of induction and permanent magnet machines using machine learning. Currently studying the axial-flux superconducting motor for aviation applications, with an emphasis on how modular design can help scale up the motor rating for superconducting stator and rotor using second-generation high-temperature superconductors(2G-HTS). A design methodology for a fixed rating modular will be developed, as well as the possibilities for scaling up the machine to MW rating using a modular design.
